Editor's Note: It is also worthy to note that John Burns turned laps on a Smokin' Pocketbikes provided BMS in addition to the Rooster Racing Blata mentioned in the article. While overlooked in the the confines of a fixed length article, thank you to Smokin' Pocketbikes for offering Burns an unplanned helping hand.

If you can't find the magazine locally you can download a digital version of the magazine from Cycle World's Zinio store.

"Deep Pockets," John Burns' feature story on pocketbike racing, hit newsstands May 2 in Cycle World's SportBike annual. Fun 8-page story with lots of photos of kids and adults from SCminiGP races. Here's a typical Burns-ism: "Body steering helps in the turns, but if you're an adult you're pretty much locked into position, like flying coach to Europe."

SCminiGP Race Director Josiah says, "John does a great job capturing the reality of the sport in SoCal, and gives an excellent break down of how SCminiGP is supporting today’s youth." The article covers John’s wild experience riding a Chinese based bike and a race prepared Blata, but identifies with SCminiGP's passion for building a stepping stone process for kids!
