BT601SS...what really happened to the stones

In the midst of a mini road racing boom the most favored tire disappeared. The beloved Bridgestone BT601SS was not to be seen again. Racers have scoured the shelves and picked through the dealership stocks hoping to happen upon the beloved black halos, but without success.

According to Bob Graham the Senior Manager of Motorcycle Products at Bridgestone racers aren't the only ones asking for more tires. According to Graham, "Bridgestone Japan stopped producing these tires about a year ago. I am trying to re-negotiate some production. Unfortunately, the plant is at maximum capacity."
